The ‘Client’ is the author investing in the critique services. The ‘Booking Date’ is the date the Client reserves their spot and is required to pay a 50% deposit fee. The ‘Submission Date’ is the date the Client is required to submit their manuscript/project for review. The ‘Feedback Date’ is the agreed date that the Client will receive their critique. The ‘Fee’ for the Cover-to-Cover and Chapter Checkup services is calculated in accordance with the word count.

How is the fee calculated? What is my critique quote?

The Fee for The Cover-to-Cover and The Chapter Checkup services is $0.02 USD per word. This is lower than industry standard. The Pitch Perfector has a flat Fee of $150.00 USD, but existing clients of either The Cover-to-Cover or The Chapter Checkup services receive a 10% discount for future Pitch Perfector Services.

How should I format my manuscript?

I accept Word Docs, as well as Google Docs that are formatted in accordance with the industry standard (i.e. Times New Roman, size 12 and double-spaced with page numbers). Make sure there are chapter headings/links so that I can identify these for ease of review in your feedback.

What is the payment structure?

50% deposit paid on the Booking Date to hold your spot in my calendar, and the remaining 50% is paid when you send me the manuscript for feedback on the Submission Date.

When can I start working with you, and how do I book?

Please contact me through the ‘Get in touch’ link. From there, I will contact you via email and we can discuss the Booking Date (i.e. the date your spot is confirmed and your 50% deposit is paid), as well as the Submission Date for my review (i.e. the date the remaining 50% of the fee is to be paid and you provide your manuscript). I will also then provide you with a Feedback Date so you know when to expect my feedback. My calendar is fairly full, so please book as soon as possible if you wish to reserve your spot.

What is your policy on AI?

I do not accept manuscripts that have been written with AI; however, I accept manuscripts that have been 'edited' with AI (i.e. software such as Grammarly). However, I will NOT use AI to critique your manuscript!

What genres do you accept?

I am open to non-fiction and most fiction genres, especially women's fiction, thrillers/mysteries and romance. If you are unsure about your genre, please inquire!

What is your turnaround time?

Depending on the total manuscript length for the Cover-to-Cover service, I aim for 2-3 weeks. This ensures I can thoroughly review your manuscript without rushing and provide the critique you deserve! For the Chapter Checkup and Pitch Perfector services, I aim for 1-2 weeks.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made within 14 days of the Submission Date. The client forfeits the 50% deposit upon cancellation, but is not liable to pay the remaining 50% of the fee.
